Forty-Five
An antique linen flag from the 1900s. This forty-five star is made of linen. The stars are arranged in the 8-7-8-7-7-8 pattern, in which the first and third rows are staggered to the left, and the fifth row is alternatively staggered to the right. The forty-five star flag represents the inclusion of Utah to the Union. The flag is in good condition with light patina with some fraying and light stains. Utah was admitted on January 4th, 1896, and this flag became official on July 4th, 1896. Presidents Grover Cleveland, William McKinley, and Teddy Roosevelt served under this flag, and the Spanish-American War was fought under it. Preserved under UV-protective, reduced glare glass with acid-free matting. Frame is made of wood. Measures 23 x 28 inches including the frame.
