This is an antique “Betsy Ross” flag from the 1950s. It is made of silk and has light patina and fraying. Measures 10 x 12 inches including the frame. Congress created this flag on June 14, 1777. It was first displayed in the face of an armed enemy at Fort Stanwix, on August 3, 1777. It is named after the Philadelphia seamstress Elizabeth “Betsy” Ross who was commissioned by George Washington the sew a flag into these specifications.
